Cargocare commenced trading in Dublin, Ireland in 1983.

The company’s initial focus was the operation of overnight Groupage Freight Services between the UK and Ireland. This was at a time when customs regulations were in operation between Ireland and the UK and to facilitate customs clearance on site at its own premises in Dublin the company operated a customs approved Inland Clearance Depot (ICD) at Airways Industrial Estate.

Post Brexit, we have perhaps returned to our roots, again providing comprehensive Customs Clearance Services and operating our Customs Bonded Facility. We are very pleased to have achieved full AEOF accreditation from Customs in respect of our customs services. 

The company developed a national distribution service to support its UK – Ireland freight services and to provide distribution services to international freight operators servicing Ireland, but not wishing to cover all areas of the country themselves. This distribution service covers all areas of Ireland, including Northern Ireland, on a daily basis.

In August 2000 the company opened a UK base with offices and depot facilities in London.  The company operates nightly driver accompanied trailer services between the London and Dublin depots.

This service is also utilised by many international operators wishing to service Ireland without sending their own equipment across.  Freight collected by, or delivered into the London depot today can be delivered in Dublin tomorrow.

In 2010 Cargocare established a dedicated photocopier transport division and now offers a full range of photocopier logistics services. These include international transport, warehousing,  pre-delivery inspection, last mile – two man delivery and full installation.  The company also provides comprehensive reverse logistics for end of contract equipment with full traceability.

Cargocare operates a range of vehicles to cover all distribution requirements. These range from 7.5 tonne box vans to
13.5 m articulated vehicles. All are fitted with tail-lifts, satellite navigation and tracking equipment.

Cargocare has twice been honoured by the Irish Road Haulage Association, winning the Association’s National Haulier of the Year and Overall Haulier of the year awards.
